Friday AFNB: RNC goes total Trump, Biden yells angrily at nation in SOTU
March 8, 2024: The patriot's way to stay informed
Today is: Friday, March 8, 2024
Quote of the day:
“No catalogue of horrors ever kept men from war. Before the war you always think that it’s not you that dies. But you will die, brother, if you go to it long enough.”
-Ernest Hemingway
News summary for the nation:
Joe Biden’s angry State of the Union address on Thursday focused largely on pandering for more weapons/aid to Ukraine, gun control, Roe v. Wade, and claims that American democracy was facing an internal threat that hadn’t been seen since the Civil War (Biden was referring to Trump and the America First movement).
Trump provided a play-by-play reaction to Biden’s speech on Truth Social. Traffic on the site was so heavy that the platform crashed several times.
Controversial InfoWars founder Alex Jones told media personality and journalist Tucker Carlson on Thursday night that the far left would “torch the country” if Trump is elected president in November.
He said, “So, Black Lives Matter and Antifa, and all of this Hezbollah, Hamas protests…they’re invoking that and they’re hyping that up now as their third rail, or their fifth column…to then burn the country down within weeks of him being president-elect.”
Important America First bullet points:
Trump secures a total RNC takeover in MASSIVE America First victory. North Carolina GOP Chairman Michael Whatley and President Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, were elected on Friday as chairman and co-chair of the RNC, respectively. Upon taking the podium, Ms. Trump had already secured a six-figure check from a donor. This will likely transform the trajectory of the RNC and mobilize its ability to fundraise and deploy get-out-the-vote efforts.
Trump secures bond in E. Jean Carroll case. The president posted a $91.6 million bond in the E. Jean Carroll case, thus avoiding paying out the $83.3 million judgment to the former Elle writer this coming Monday. Upon appeal, he could win that money back.
Trump faces another bond deadline in NYC civil fraud suit. Trump has until March 25th to post a bond in the $454 million civil fraud suit or face not only shelling out the full penalty at the end of the month but also risk having his New York assets seized by New York AG Letitia James.
AG Letitia James is viciously booed and drowned out by cheers of “TRUMP” in New York. The state attorney general, who has relentlessly pursued legal action against Trump, was loudly booed when she took the stage at a New York firefighter honors ceremony. The crowd also began chanting “TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!” Clearly, the people of New York are not pleased with James’ conduct against Trump in the Empire State. Watch the video here.
National/International politics:
Joe Biden goes off-script and mentions Laken Riley. Biden’s SOTU became garbled and confused toward the end of his address. At one point, he attempted to bring up the name of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old slain college student who was murdered by an alleged illegal alien. Biden mispronounced her name as “Lincoln Riley” and disdainfully pointed out that, although she was killed by an illegal, many people in America are killed by “legals,” too. His comments hardly came across as sympathetic.
Gold Star father arrested at SOTU. In 2021, Biden oversaw a catastrophic military withdrawal from Afghanistan that left $87 billion of equipment behind for the Taliban and resulted in the deaths of 13 honorable American soldiers. During Biden’s SOTU address on Thursday, the Gold Star father of one of those fallen soldiers was reportedly arrested after yelling “UNITED STATES MARINES” during the address. See the photos and video here.
Biden criticizes Russian President Vladimir Putin but suggests going to Moscow for cheap medicine. In one of many gaffes during his SOTU address, Biden suggested that Americans could get cheaper medicine in Moscow than in the U.S. He verbally admitted that he was “gonna get in trouble for saying this.” It begs the question: who decides what Biden says or what he doesn’t say?
What’s new with President Donald J. Trump:
Trump will rally tomorrow in Georgia. Trump will hold a “Get Out the Vote Rally” in Rome, Georgia on Saturday, March 9, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
45 flames Biden’s angry and “hate-filled” State of the Union. The president wrote on Truth Social: “Biden’s speech last night is getting ‘panned’ all over the World. Only the Radical Left lunatics are trying to make the best of it. It took him 41 minutes to talk, briefly, about Immigration and the Border, on the topic of which he was very weak. No talk of weaponization against his very calm and nice opponent. Angry as hell, this guy is a PSYCHO!”
