News summary for the nation:
It looks as if war may be on the calendar for the 2024 election year, as many have odiously predicted. The United States has begun airstrikes in Syria and Iraq. According to DailyMail.com, the slew of attacks are set to last for several days and come as retaliation for a drone attack that claimed the lives of three U.S. troops and injured at least 40 others.
A slate of courtroom developments has taken place this week for President Donald J. Trump. The president’s Jan. 6 election case in Washington, D.C., has been indefinitely delayed pending appeal (presidential immunity) and has been removed from the court docket. It was scheduled for March 4, 2024.
The president has also received good news in the election-related case in Fulton County, Georgia. The district attorney spearheading the case against Trump, Fani Willis, has been hit with 22 articles of impeachment in the Georgia legislature. She also received a congressional subpoena at the behest of House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on Friday. Willis also admitted on Friday to being in a personal relationship with an attorney (Nathan Wade) whom she hired to prosecute Trump in the case. Wade allegedly financially benefited from this relationship.

South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace (R) slams Nikki Haley. Mace joined Team Trump in South Carolina on Friday and criticized the state’s former Republican governor, Nikki Haley, who is the last candidate remaining in the Republican primary to challenge Trump. Haley has been heavily accused of sympathizing with China. “If she had her way, South Carolina would be manufacturing spy balloons right here in our state,” Mace stated.
Apprehensions at the southern border decrease by 76 percent in Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott’s, R-Texas, long-awaited action on the Texas border has finally paid off. Per the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, since taking action to secure the border in Texas, border apprehensions dropped from 71,000 in December 2023 to 16,700 in January 2024, via TGP.
Kari Lake takes the lead in U.S. Arizona Senate race polls. According to new data from JL Partners, Lake holds a narrow edge (+1) over Democrat opponent Ruben Gallego in Arizona in a three-way race that includes incumbent Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.).
Kid Rock will fundraise with President Trump in Nashville this month. Rocker and legend Kid Rock will join President Donald Trump and a long list of America First Tennessee lawmakers for a fundraiser on February 22. Kid Rock has been a friend and ally of Trump for many years.
National/International politics:
New York City is set to pay millions to illegals on pre-paid debit cards. America’s most famous city will dole out $53 million in pre-paid debit cards to illegal migrants, leaving the city’s taxpayers to foot the bill, TPM reports. They are calling it an “Immediate Response Card.”
The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments about whether Trump should be removed from the 2024 ballot. According to The New York Times, SCOTUS justices will hear arguments on the issue next week, although it is not expected that they will make a decision soon. The challenges to Trump’s eligibility for the 2024 ballot are based on the 14th Amendment, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution.
Donald Trump Jr. expected to headline heavy hitter GOP fundraiser. The 45th president’s eldest son is reportedly set to headline a huge GOP fundraiser in Washington, D.C., in March, which will be attended by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and a slate of Republican leaders. It is scheduled for March 6, 2024, according to Breitbart News.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban praises Trump. Orban told Le Point magazine this week, “Peace has a name, that of Donald Trump.” He stated that the only man who was “strong enough” to end the war in Ukraine was Trump. “We should not forget that Trump was one of the most successful foreign policy presidents of the United States,” he added.
What’s new with President Donald J. Trump:
Trump thanks Prime Minister Orban for his kind comments. In response to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s praise of the president’s unrivaled efforts to bring peace to the globe, Trump issued a thank you on Truth Social. He wrote, “Thank you Viktor, we will not let the World down - THERE WILL BE PEACE ON EARTH, JUST LIKE THERE WAS FOUR YEARS AGO!”
45 scorches Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The president eviscerated Willis after she admitted to having an affair with the prosecutor she hired to “GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.” He explained, “By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!”
Trump will stay on the ballot in South Carolina. According to a story from Post and Courier, U.S. District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis tossed out a lawsuit from John Anthony Castro, a Texas man who has brought more than two dozen lawsuits around the country to attempt to get Trump removed from the 2024 ballot based on the 14th Amendment. This is one of many such victories for Trump on this issue. “Crooked Joe Biden’s election interference efforts were dealt another stinging defeat in federal court in South Carolina today,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung stated.
