“A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."

News summary for the nation:
President Donald Trump won the GOP Michigan presidential primary this week by a whopping 42 points, trouncing Nikki Haley yet again in what is becoming perhaps the hottest winning streak for any non-incumbent presidential candidate in history.
The president also made waves on Thursday with his historic visit to Eagle Pass, Texas, where he toured Operation Lone Star with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and spoke about Joe Biden’s utter border betrayal.
The nation mourned the tragic death of 22-year-old UGA nursing student Laken Riley as she was laid to rest on Friday afternoon. Laken was murdered by an alleged illegal alien from Venezuela. He has been arrested and charged in connection with her death.
Per the Riley family’s obituary for Laken:
Her smile was extremely infectious, and she spread joy to others everywhere she went.
She was devoted to serving the Lord. She was always involved with church, Woodstock City Church and Watkinsville First Baptist Church. Her love for spreading God’s word led her to attend mission trips through the church. Her love for the Lord was exemplified in every aspect of her life.
Laken was an amazing daughter, sister, friend and an overall extraordinary person. She will be missed every day, but we promise to honor her life moving forward in a very big way.
Important America First bullet points:
Illinois judge attempts to strip Trump from state primary ballot. Illinois Cook County Circuit Judge Tracie Porter decided this week that Donald Trump could not appear on the state’s primary ballot because of the “insurrection” of Jan. 6, 2021. Trump’s attorneys swiftly appealed the ruling on Thursday. Per Reuters, the effort was led by the far-left advocacy group, “Free Speech for People.”
Trump visits Eagle Pass, Texas, and confirms that he has spoken to the parents of Laken Riley. The president told the media that he had spoken to the slain nursing student’s parents and noted that they were “devastated beyond belief.”
Trump leads Biden in seven KEY swing states. A new poll from Bloomberg/Morning Consult has found that Trump is handily leading Biden in a general election in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, and Michigan.
The U.S. Supreme Court agrees to take up Trump’s presidential immunity argument. According to CBS News, the issue of whether Trump is entitled to presidential immunity for the allegations from Special Counsel Jack Smith will be taken up by the Supreme Court. The likelihood of a favorable ruling is high for Trump, thanks to the court’s 6-3 conservative majority.
National/International politics:
Biden’s frail appearance at border draws stark contrast against Trump. Joe Biden visited the southern border on Thursday at the same time as Donald J. Trump - Biden visited Brownsville and Trump visited Eagle Pass. Biden appeared thin, frail, and unsteady. Trump spent a couple of hours touring Operation Lone Star and gave remarks to the press.
Super Tuesday is just around the corner. 15 primary state elections will go down on March 5, preceded by two Republican caucuses on Saturday and one primary in Washington, D.C., according to the NYT. Trump is likely to win every primary contest. It is unclear if Nikki Haley plans to drop out of the race yet.
The University of Florida reportedly fires all of its DEI staff. According to a report from The Alligator, UF has axed all positions related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hiring guidelines.
Judge Scott McAfee may be poised to issue a decision on whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified from Trump case. The judge stated that he would like to hear “more of how some of the legal arguments apply to what has already been presented - and it may be already possible for me to make a decision…” He alluded to doing so, perhaps, without any more material evidence.
What’s new with President Donald J. Trump:
Trump will rally on Saturday in North Carolina and Virginia. The president will hold back-to-back rallies in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, March 2, preceding next week’s Super Tuesday elections.
Trump will host an election watch-night party in Palm Beach, Florida. The president will host an election soiree at his home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 5, where attendees and media will watch the Super Tuesday election results roll in.
President Trump pens powerful op-ed for the Daily Mail about illegal immigration crisis. Hours before his scheduled trip to Eagle Pass, Texas, Trump published an exclusive editorial for the Daily Mail centered on Joe Biden’s facilitated “invasion” and why a Trump administration is the only thing that can undo the horrifying damage it has inflicted.
Trump sends a special message to March 12 primary states. “We have to win and it has to be decisive…everyone HAS to get out and vote. We want to send that signal LOUD and CLEAR and STRONG. We want to win with BIG margins.”
