Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., issued a joint statement scorching the Senate bill along with Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., and Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y.
“House Republicans oppose the Senate immigration bill because it fails in every policy area needed to secure our border and would actually incentivize more illegal immigration,” the statement explained.
